RSA Referral fee will be refunded

Ridge Referrals is NOT part of the ‘Referral Vet Network’ of practices favoured by RSA insurance companies. 

Currently if a pet owner insured with a policy that is underwritten by RSA (Tesco & More Than) is being referred to us at Ridge Referrals they may be charged an extra £200 referral excess fee. This charge may be waivered if the referral is for a life-threatening condition.

Many large and well respected multi-disciplinary referral centres have elected not to join the network.

We feel that you as the referring vet should have the freedom of choice as to where you refer your patients as should the pet owners under your guidance and for this reason we will refund any clients that are unfortunate enough to be penalised by their insurance company in this way.

The only exception to the refund rule is for patients that are referred for an ‘out-patient’ CT scan only, as these scans are already performed at low prices to keep them accessible for all.

In our experience when clients contact their insurance company it is not always made clear to them that there is the option to visit a referral practice that is not part of the ‘Referral Vet Network’ which can then cause some understandable confusion.  Please reassure your clients that they do have a choice and they will not be financially penalised for being referred to us.
